A closet is a small, usually enclosed storage space used for keeping clothing, shoes, accessories, and sometimes other household items. Closets can be built into a room or an independent piece of furniture, and they usually have doors to keep items out of sight. They can range in size from very small spaces designed for a few hanging clothes to large walk-in closets with shelves, drawers, and other storage features. Closets are commonly found in bedrooms, but can also be used in other parts of the house, such as hallways, mudrooms, and laundry rooms.
